mountains ahead

Since entering Canada I have been regularly confronted with this sign and I am still unsure exactly what it refers to.

Mountains ahead?

Hi! Enjoying your blog. We met at Tok River campground….(my husband was sick). We wondered about the sign too and then we decided it meant uneven
road…frost heaves. We live in Forks, Washington. Google it and if it is on your route please stay with us.

Hi Babs – great to hear from you. I’m glad it has someone else wondering, too. I’m pretty sure I’ll be heading through Forks – I’ve already been to the rainiest town in Canada so I may as well go to the rainiest town in the US. Hope to see you there.
