oh, no…

My computer has finally sucumbed – to what I’m not exactly sure but it no longer springs to life. Zilch, nada. This means that I have no practical way to process my photos and work on the blog.

    Hi Anna,

When I was travelling around the world, I did not carry a computer with me. You’ve probably thought about these options already, but just in case you haven’t, I’ll share what I did here:

    Gear:

    > Canon G9 digital camera
    > SD card
    > USB SD card reader (like this one)

I would just use the SD card reader at internet cafes (if in developing countries) or at people’s places I was staying at (if in developed countries). I found that I never had any issues with plugging in the USB SD card reader into internet cafes….

Mind you, I was never in South America…only Asia.

I hope you find some way of updating your blog with the great pictures we have been enjoying!

    Tailwinds,
    Rob Thomson

Oo, sorry to hear. Are you sure that the harddisk is not disconnected? Maybe the fan is fried, but at least it should tell you so (and you can `escape’ it).

If it cannot be fixed/replaced easily and the wordpress.com plugins do not offer enough to edit etc, feel free to open up a free blog at BikeTravellers.com (you can even use your own domain name.).
I can add extra plugins for you if needed. Cheers, Harry

    Hi Anna,
reading your blog after what must have been two months and seeing that you are computerless. Too bad… I hope you did store your pictures somewhere outside the computer, either on flickr or elsewhere. Wish you luck with the choice of the new computer. Is there any chance for you to buy a USB SD card reader as mentioned above? I think it’s a great idea! We are missing your pictures!
    Love,
    Lucie
