cargo boat

I have about half an hour to get myself back to the hotel where I am staying in Puerto Cabezas to oraganise by stuff and then back to the port before the scheduled departure time so I rush off frantically.

The boat to the Corn Islands.

As I arrive back at the wharf, a series of trucks pull up alongside the boat and start loading things aboard and it is seventeen hours later that we finally depart Puerto Cabezas. Will I never, ever, learn?

Waiting, waiting...

...and more waiting.

A pile of wood.

...takes seventeen hours...

...to load aboard.

People make themselves comfortable while waiting.

Full...

...load. This symbol shouldn't go underwater. The habour master studies the boat dubiously for some time before shrugging off responsibility and letting us set sail.

Beautiful old Russian truck.
