marking time in costa rica

I’m stuck in Costa Rica waiting for my new bank card to arrive. Sadly, it’s a small country and not one I’m particularly interested in.

However, I can definitively report at this point in time that if you cook for yourself and camp it is not an expensive place to visit. A pineapple, a butternut squash, a cucumber, a lime and two tomatoes cost slightly less than two dollars.

Since I have nothing better to do, I decide to check out the Pacific beaches in the north of Guanacaste, back towards Nicaragua. I find plenty to entertain me.

Perfect Pacific waves...

... and an almost endless beach.

And then there is the road again.

    hello Anna.

I just sold my ortlieb bags and rack in order to have my frame bags made and to hopefully carry a lot less.

I would love any tips you could give as far as the making of your frame bags, so I could pass them along to my seamstress.

Miss the blog, would love to read a long entry without photographs, sometimes it feels like we always expect an image when being described a place when words can do wonders…

    Cheers and thanks!

    Hi Seth,

Been a while since I’ve heard from you!

Tricky to pass on tips regarding the frame bags – I spent a lot of time studying photos of other people’s efforts before I attempted my own. Porcelain Rocket and Carousel Designs provided most of the inspiration.

I would like to write longer entries but being computerless I am stuck with either cybercafe computers or borrowing other people’s neither of which I find very conducive to writing in a leisurely thoughtful fashion.

I hope to get a new computer soon, though.

There’s always pen and paper to write a post in the moment, then just type it up when you’re at a computer. :)
